The role 
The New College of Humanities at Northeastern wishes to appoint a full-time Assistant Professor (Teaching & Research) in Computer Science. 

We wish to appoint a specialist in the field of Machine Learning, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence (including, e.g., Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning). The appointee will conduct research that contributes to the College's burgeoning reputation in areas related to Artificial Intelligence, and builds on the University's strengths more generally, specifically in the UK context; and they will teach related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Preference may be given to candidates with applied and/or interdisciplinary strengths.
Core duties will include research, teaching, marking, and support of students, as well as wider educational and administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • PhD, or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area of Philosophy

  • Flexibility and capacity to teach across a wide range of courses
  • Ability to develop excellent educational provision in areas with significant appeal to students

  • Ability to engage and develop working relationships with relevant employers as appropriate
