Job Description

The successful candidate will work in a modern research environment as part of a team in the group of A/Prof Matthias G. Wacker and learn about the synthesis, characterization, and clinical evaluation of pharmaceutical drug products. In close collaboration with a pharmaceutical company from Europe, he/she will oversee the industry-driven research project “Evaluating bioequivalence of liposomal formulations in-vitro and in-silico” and apply state-of-the-art modeling techniques and in vitro tests. @TheWackerLab develops a combination of computational models and biopredictive assays to ensure the quality and safety of anticancer drug products. The position is supported by the NUS R&G Initiative and is open to candidates who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Qualifications

•    Qualifications / Discipline:
For the position, a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a comparable discipline is required, preferably with a few years of previous postdoc experiences. Depending on the career plans of the candidate, we are open to train and develop staff for this position. Experience in lab-based scientific work and the use of computational methods to analyze and interpret data is an advantage.

  • Skills:

A high level of motivation and the ability to work in an international team with collaborators from the industry are required. Communication and motivation are key in our team. 

  • Experience:  

Experience with industry-relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing and non-cell-based characterization techniques are an advantage but no strict requirement.
