Role Description

We welcome applications from passionate, skilled, committed, prospective individuals to join the HyPER project team (www.hyperh2.co.uk) and influence the hydrogen economy.

About the Role

The technician and operator team will be responsible for ensuring the pilot plants’ safe operation, adhering to the standard operating procedures, and delivering the research for the project. We are looking for candidates who have the confidence to use their breadth of technical expertise (e.g. welding, electronics, Swagelok, materials, controls & instrumentation) to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain the pilot plant. The tasks will vary widely, therefore you will be expected to demonstrate the ability to develop new skillsets and be able to work to tight deadlines as part of a team.

About You

You will have substantial technical and practical experience working in laboratory / pilot / industrial scale facilities or other relevant practical fields particularly where these facilities operate at high temperature, high pressure, or with hazardous gases. You will need to have excellent “hands on” skills and manual dexterity, as well as excellent written and verbal communication that allow you to work well as a part of a team.  Health and safety will be an upmost priority in these roles, we therefore need you to be aware of regulations including ATEX and be able to follow and enforce operating procedures. You must be dependable, reliable, and enthusiastic team member that is self-motivated who wants to learn new skills for the hydrogen economy and enable the HyPER project achieve its objectives.
