Both the supply chain management and information systems disciplines are housed in the Business School's Department of Business Information Systems (BIS). The BIS Department is a dynamic and ambitious team of academics actively engaged in scholarly conversations and passionate about teaching. We have an established PhD programme, are experiencing a growing interest in supply chain management in the Bachelor of Business degree and our new master's qualification in supply chain management.

The Role

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer of Supply Chain Management to develop their career in teaching. We are particularly interested in applicants who would contribute to our teaching in any of the following areas: supply chain management, operations management, procurement management and logistics management. The ability to teach data analytics, enterprise systems or project management would be an added advantage.

We embrace practice-led, as well as research-informed, approaches to teaching where the student experience is optimised. It is also expected that over time the successful candidate will engage with government, business, professional bodies and the community, and contribute to School/Faculty activities.

Qualification:

  • A master's degree in supply chain management or related discipline.

Teaching and Learning:

  • Early career academic candidates will ideally have at least some tutoring or other teaching assistant experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • More experienced candidates will have previous lecturing experience, evidence of curriculum development and experience leading courses.
  • Industry experience is highly desirable and would form an important input into teaching.

In addition, knowledge and experience of Tikanga Māori would be advantageous.

Start Date: The successful candidate will ideally start in January/February 2022. Interviews are expected to take place in early December.

Appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
