The Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Melbourne is home to the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. About the Role

The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Music (Saxophone) who will make significant contributions to the teaching, coordination and provision of the undergraduate and graduate programs of the Conservatorium: by attracting high-quality students into the Bachelor of Music and Graduate programs; teaching one-to-one lessons to saxophone students; and contributing in diverse ways to excellence and innovation in the solo, chamber music and Wind Symphony programs of the Conservatorium, including leadership of the Saxophone Ensemble.

About you

You will be an outstanding performer with a strong record of performance accomplishments across relevant repertoires; have high-level expertise in saxophone teaching practices and a record of excellent teaching at the tertiary level; and demonstrate ability to contribute to innovative artistic research and/or the scholarship of music pedagogy.

You will hold a doctoral degree in music performance or other relevant area of music or a superior record of professional experience and demonstrated ability to complete a doctoral degree in music performance.

Location

Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work in the spectacular new Ian Potter Southbank Centre, surrounded by the major arts and cultural organisations and venues of Melbourne’s arts precinct. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
