  • Salary Package: Senior Lecturer (Level C), from $132,004 to $151,806 p.a. or Associate Professor (Level D) $158,533 to $174,378 p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading (pro-rated for part-time appointments)
  • Appointment Type: Full time, fixed term for 3 years, available to start by 2022. Part time and/or flexible work arrangements will be considered.
  • Macquarie University (North Ryde) location

The Role

A unique opportunity exists for a highly motivated, qualified, registered physiotherapist with extensive professional and clinical education experience to join our department as Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor - Teaching & Leadership.

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will utilise your professional and industry experience in Physiotherapy to make a critical contribution to the development and delivery of learning and teaching within the Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) course.

Essential criteria for all applicants:

  • Tertiary qualification in physiotherapy
  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

Senior Lecturer

  • Experience teaching into one of more of the following areas - advanced physiotherapy practice, health care complexity, research skills, leadership and/or advocacy
  • Demonstrated innovation in pedagogy, teaching practice and/or curriculum development
  • Excellent physiotherapy education skills and experience, including evidence of positive student outcomes and reflective practice
  • Evidence of creating a superior student experience and engagement with diverse cohorts
  • Demonstrated success in the academic leadership in the delivery of units or courses
  • Proven contribution to the advancement of learning and teaching within one’s discipline and/or institution
  • Evidence of advanced clinical practitioner experience

Associate Professor

  • Experience teaching into one of more of the following areas - advanced physiotherapy practice, health care complexity, research skills, leadership and/or advocacy
  • Exceptional teaching skills including experience leading teaching teams and learning and teaching initiatives which enhance student outcomes
  • Evidence of original and innovative contributions in pedagogy, teaching practice and/or curriculum development
  • Demonstrated success in the academic leadership in the delivery of accredited physiotherapy or health education courses
  • Evidence of successful delivery to diverse student cohorts at undergraduate, postgraduate or executive education levels
  • Evidence of creating an exceptional student experience and student engagement
  • Evidence of active service and contribution to the advancement of learning and teaching within one’s discipline and/or institution
  • Evidence of advanced clinical practitioner and/or health leadership experience
