Job Details
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 within UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering.
The project will be conducted in collaboration with Merck Research Labs and aims to significantly intensify pharmaceutical synthesis and production through the development of novel 3D-printed reactors and separation unit operations, to enable intensified fully telescoped/integrated continuous flow synthesis, and thereby the manufacture of drugs within miniaturized printable chemical factories.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take on a leadership position in terms of chemical process development and flow chemistry within the multidisciplinary team of synthetic & chemists, chemical engineers, and pharmaceutical scientists, based in the UCD O'Brien Science Centre. The ideal candidate should have experience in the development of, continuous processes/flow chemistry, and an interest in the working on the development novel photocatalytic and enzymatic processes for the flow synthesis of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator. The primary purpose of the role is to further develop your research skills and competences, including the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications, the development of funding proposals, the mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.
PD1 Salary Range: €38,631 - €44,658 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
PD2 Fixed Salary: €45,942 per annum
