Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 508306), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Social Gerontology, Gerontechnology, Ergonomics and Biomechanics or a related discipline. Experience of technology acceptance of wearable robotics would be a plus. They should demonstrate strong competency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Those with post-doctoral research experience, especially a strong background in gerontology research and an excellent track record of publications are preferred.

The appointee will work in a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, medical specialists and technology professionals to conduct a study of providing an intelligent robotic solution for assisting older adults’ mobility and manipulability to enhance independence and improve the quality of life of older adults. He/She will assist the Principal Investigator to plan, coordinate, and implement data collection activities; conduct data analysis; prepare presentations, manuscripts and reports; supervise Research Assistants; and perform any other relevant tasks as assigned.
