Job Description

The Biostatistics and Modelling Domain in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, NUS, is seeking to hire research staff for several positions to develop mathematical, statistical and computational models of disease to answer public health policy questions. Applications will include infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases. The successful applicants are expected to develop and code models, document code, analyse data, create visualisations and user interfaces, prepare reports and presentations, and contribute to writing scientific papers.

Other requirements include:

  • Having good command of English, both written and spoken
  • Being great at scientific coding, for instance in R, C++ or python
  • Being a team player and able to work to ridiculous deadlines
  • Having a love of solving ill-posed problems
  • Being willing to learn about public health, disease and epidemiology

Requirements

Applicants are expected to have an honours bachelors degree in a suitable quantitative discipline, such as statistics, applied mathematics or computational biology.
