Professor Salim Khakoo is looking to recruit an enthusiastic researcher to a 2 year position in immunology.

The position is fully funded by an NIH grant in collaboration with Dr Jayajit Das, an expert in mathematical modelling, at Columbus, Ohio. The post-doctoral fellow will work on understanding how natural killer cells recognise diseased target cells building on our previous work published in PNAS, Science Immunology and Frontiers in Immunology. The main focus of the work will be to generate in vitro data by assays of NK cell function and microscopy, to analyse in detail how NK cell receptors interact with their ligands to generate anti-viral and anti-cancer immune responses. The position would suit an applicant with an interest and experience in immunology and/or microscopy.

The successful candidate should have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualification and experience in biomedical laboratory research.

The post is available immediately. Informal enquiries to Salim Khakoo (s.i.khakoo@soton.ac.uk) are welcome.
