Role Description

Join an exceptional team at Cranfield University’s Sports Centre!

We are looking for a genuine person with warmth and enthusiasm, who will bring a positive can-do attitude to work every day. Prior knowledge of working and/or exercising in a gym will be required along with strong interpersonal skills, an attention to detail and organisational skills are essential.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all members and sports facilities users are cared for in a professional and welcoming manner and receive an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Manage bookings and process memberships using the computerized booking system.
  • Process payments and checking and correcting of finances for the End of Day via cash and credit cards control.
  • Ensure designated areas are maintained in a clean, tidy, and hygienic condition in all public areas.
  • Ensure members exercise in a safe way and in accordance with the code of practice and Risk Assessments.
  • Assist with the organisation and preparation of sports activities.
  • Use and maintain equipment in the department as trained and report immediately any faults to the Duty Supervisor.
  • To carry out suitable gym inductions from beginners to experienced gym members.
  • Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used as specified by COSHH guidelines.
  • Ensure all chemicals and cleaning products are used as directed by the manufacturer and in accordance with the training given.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by a member of the management team.

Working hours are Monday to Sunday. The number of shifts will vary per week. Shifts are available on an as and when required basis as per business needs.

In-house training provided.
