The Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS)/ State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (SKL-QRCM)/ Macao Centre for Research and Development in Chinese Medicine invite applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the following disciplines:

  1. Research and Development of Innovative Products of Chinese Medicine: Chinese classical prescriptions, Chinese patent medicine, innovative drugs, and health products.
  2. Material reference of Chinese Medicine: Screening of Chinese classical formula and innovative medicine, and quality evaluation of their efficacy and safety.
  3. Quality standards of Chinese Medicine: Internationalized quality standard system of Chinese classical prescriptions and genuine Chinese medicine.
  4. Pharmaceutical engineering of Chinese Medicine: Formulations, manufacturing process, pharmaceutical excipients, and industrial translation.
  5. Quality assurance of Chinese Medicine: Chinese medicine resources, intellectual property, brand, quality traceability, and product registration.

Established in 2002, ICMS is an independent academic unit of excellence in the field of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences. Along with the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (the first and only state key Laboratory in the field of Chinese medical sciences) and Macao Centre for Research and Development in Chinese Medicine, ICMS has developed a ‘3-in-1’ system that integrates education, scientific research, and R&D. Over the past decade, the Institute has established an international reputation in conducting high-quality research with special emphasis on quality research of Chinese medicine, drug discovery & development, systems pharmacology and molecular pharmaceutics. It has secured outstanding funding support from both national and regional governments and built long-term strategic collaborations with top academic organizations/pharmaceutical companies around the world. Qualifications

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Chinese medicine, pharmaceutics, biomedical sciences or related disciplines, postdoctoral research experience from globally renowned universities, and also a good record of high-quality research publications. Priority consideration will be given to those with proven academic innovation ability and R&D experience in product development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment are essential for the application.

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2021 or early 2022.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience.  The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions experience.
