Dean of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University announces an open competition for the position Professor with a specialization in virology

Workplace: Department of Experimental biology, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic

Type of Contract: temporary position with 3-years contract (with possible extension), academic

Working Hours: 0,5 FTE (part-time employment of 20 hours per week)

The Department of Experimental Biology at the Faculty of Science MU is a modern, fully equipped workplace where individual research groups are engaged in research at all levels - from molecules and cells to invertebrates and humans; from basic research to the application of results in human and veterinary biomedicine.

Job Description

  • Teaching bachelor's and master's degree courses in the fields of virology, microbiology and imunology.
  • Involvement in activities related to the further development of the study programs at the Department of Experimental Biology.
  • Supervision of bachelor's, master's and doctoral theses.
  • Participation in final exam commissions.
  • Submitting and working on research grant projects.
  • Active participation in scientific conferences and presentation of research results.

Skills and Qualifications

The applicant must have:

  • Professor academic title.
  • Completed doctoral degree in the field of virology, microbiology, immunology or molecular biology.
  • Active research and publishing activity in the field of virology.
  • Practical experience of teaching at a university in minimum range 5 years.
  • Ability to teach in both Czech and English language.
