Research Assistant, Physiology

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant or Research Associate in the Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Department has a strong Health and Biomedical Sciences program. 

Appointments will be made on a 1 yr contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The appointee will be a Research Assistant or Research Associate working in a newly formed research team at NUS, with a focus on elucidating mechanisms of chromosomal instability and cellular stress response that modulate cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Main duties and responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be actively involved in performing tumorigenic assays, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, cell biology and biochemistry assays. The RA will be working closely with the Principal Investigator, Research Fellows, Research Assistants, Students and the team’s research and clinical collaborators. He/she will also be required to assist with any other duties as delegated by the PI, namely procurement-related matters.

Qualifications

The applicant should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, be passionate and curious about science, possess excellent work ethic, is committed to contributing to science and healthcare via research work and is able to be work well in a fast-paced dynamic team.
