An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Lecturer in Psychology to join the Psychology Group within the School of Education and Social Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland.

The School of Education and Social Sciences is a multi-discipline School, and the successful candidate will work with colleagues to support positive results in attainment, student experience and graduate destinations. They will possess developed capabilities in collaborative working and be committed to high professional standards in all areas of responsibility. The post offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain experience of working in a rich academic environment that recognises quality in education, research and enterprise, and international engagement.

A completed, or close to completion, PhD in Psychology or relevant area is essential. A postgraduate qualification in education/teaching and learning and an Advance HE Fellowship are highly desirable.  Applications are sought from individuals from all sub-disciplines of psychology but an ability to contribute to cognitive psychology, biological psychology and/or research methods may be an advantage.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of an excellent research-based student experience, contributing to our popular BPS accredited BSc (Hons) Psychology and MSc Psychology programmes.

Teaching is primarily focussed on the delivery of established modules and the successful candidate will be supported in developing their proficiency in HE teaching and learning environments, managing teaching activity and reflecting on best practice. You will be encouraged to develop existing expertise and research interests and contribute to collaborative decision making with colleagues on teaching and research matters within your area and provide some input to school administration and committees.
