Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a research assistant position to study the involutions of group algebras and to work on Computed Tomography to work with Dr. Zsolt Adam Balogh. Research experience in the areas of group theory or Computed Tomography is desirable. The aim of the project is (i) to study the involutions in group algebras; (ii) to develope GAP functions to investigate the properties of involutions in group algebras which arise from the basic group; (iii) to study the structure of unitary subgroups related to the classical and other involutions. Experience in AI (Deep Learning) is a plus. Candidate is expected to have a strong background in GAP or Matlab. Proficiency in English is required (written and oral). The nominal start date is as soon as possible by 15th August, 2021. The position is located at the UAEU’s main campus in Al Ain.
