Faculty
The Dubai Campus Faculty of Art and Design will launch with BA programmes in Architecture and Interior Design. This portfolio will subsequently grow to encompass the broad range of creative disciplines that are also taught at DMU UK. These Art and Design programmes are taught by internationally acclaimed and award-winning academics in the UK – and we are now seeking to extend our reputation through our appointments and campus in Dubai. Our graduates have gone on to work for some of the best architectural and interior design practices worldwide, including Heatherwick Studio, Make Architects, Shigeru Ban Architects, Faber and Checkland Kindleysides.
Role
We are seeking to appoint Lecturers and Senior Lecturers separately in our BA Architecture and Interior Design programmes, to support their development, management and delivery at DMU Dubai. You will be joining an enthusiastic team in establishing this exciting new campus as a sector-leading, regional centre for excellence. You will lead on building professional networks, engaging stakeholders, liaising with PSRBs and playing an active role in establishing a programme community for students. Programme Leaders: From the applications to these posts, we will also be seeking candidates with proven experience of leadership and academic programme management who could also become the Programme Leader for BA Architecture or BA Interior Design.

Architecture: You will be educated to Masters degree level (or higher), and have experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education. You will have proven industry experience - with extensive knowledge and expertise related to at least two key aspects of the core Architecture curriculum; Design, Technical (structures, materials, environments), History and Theory – and Professional Practice. You will also have knowledge of the ARB general criteria, graduate attributes and RIBA mandatory competences.
You must be passionate about teaching the next generation of architects to challenge their future industry and help make the changes needed in construction to tackle the climate emergency and engender social change. You will have a working understanding of RIBA & ARB accreditation and criteria.
Interior Design: You will ideally be educated to Masters degree level (or higher), and have experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education. You will have proven industry experience - with extensive knowledge and expertise related to at least two key aspects of the core Interior Design curriculum; Design, visual communication, construction technology and practice, design history, theory, heritage, culture and context. You will also need to introduce specialist knowledge and skills in one or more of the programme’s specialist areas namely, design for the following environments; Leisure and Hospitality, Retail, Living and Working from home, Exhibition, Performance, Spiritual, and Promotional Events (including Visual Merchandising).
You must be passionate about teaching the next generation of interior designers to challenge their future industry and help make the changes needed to tackle the climate emergency and engender social change.
