Based in Dubai International Academic City, the opening marks the first time DMU has ran a campus overseas and the milestone is part of the university's wider TransNational Education (TNE) programme.

Department

The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing, (SEC) is home to a diverse range of courses across three specialist areas, taught by experienced academics in professional facilities equipped with cutting-edge technology.

The role

The Faculty is seeking a number of Senior Lecturers to launch programmes in Cyber Security and Mechanical Engineering. Senior Lecturers will support the development, delivery and management of courses offered at DMU Dubai. The purpose of the roles will be to contribute to teaching and support of students on their specific programme. This includes preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars, and practical workshops; teaching of research methods, setting and marking of assessments, project supervision and personal tutoring.

The person

Cyber Security: You will have a PhD in a Computer Science, Software Engineering and Cyber Security. The successful candidate will take an important role in the delivery of teaching in the relevant subjects, including mathematics. Applicants must have the proven ability of excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We are looking for applicants with experience in Cyber Security with teaching knowledge in one or more of the following areas: PhD in Computer Science/Cyber Security, Have experience in teaching, at least for 2 years, in higher education, undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in one or more of the following engineering subjects: Cyber Law and Ethics, Networking and Databasing, Design and Implementation and Software Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering: You will have a PhD in a mechanical and manufacturing engineering. The successful candidate will take an important role in the delivery of teaching in the relevant subjects, including mathematics. Applicants must have the proven ability of excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We are looking for applicants with experience in Mechanical Engineering with teaching knowledge in one or more of the following areas: PhD in mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Have experience in teaching, at least for 2 years, in higher education, undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, in one or more of the following mechanical engineering subjects: Solid mechanics, statics and dynamics, Design, materials and manufacturing (with a strong experience on CAD programmes, e.g. Creo and ANSYS, Fluid, thermodynamics and heat transfer
