We are an internationally acknowledged centre for intellectual, scientific and aesthetic research in architecture and the built environment, which attracts the highest quality scholars in Australia.

The Design Lab explores the role of design for speculating on the future, and to envision, define and inform the interactions and experiences between people and digital and emerging technologies, both within the built environment and beyond. Our areas of research span interaction design, computational creativity, design innovation, designing for health and well-being, digital place-making, human-computer interaction, human-robot interaction and urban data science both within the University, with industry and other institutions.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding senior academic as Associate Professor or Professor in Design to provide research leadership in design-led research that engages with the complex issues of the 21st century. The position will also provide strategic guidance and delivery of the Master of Design program, with specialisations in Design Innovation and/or Strategic Design.
