The University of Lincoln is an ambitious institution with high aspirations and a rapidly improving profile that seeks to be a leading UK University. Its strategy is to combine outstanding research with research-engaged teaching and learning, and practice useful to the wider community.

The Lincoln International Business School, operates from a newly customised building located on the stunning modern campus in the heart of the historic city of Lincoln, is diverse culturally, internationally-minded, and committed to providing an educational experience that enhances employability and enables people and businesses to create successful and responsible futures.

The continued success of the School will be driven by its academic community. The post falls within the Department of Accountancy, Finance and Economics (AFE) which has around 36 staff. AFE is currently validating three MSc programmes: Banking and Finance; Economics and Finance; and Economics which supplement similarly titled undergraduate programmes. AFE also offers UG programmes in Accountancy and Finance, Business and Finance, International Accounting with Finance and Business Economics. The Department also has a suite of PG programmes covering the disciplines of Finance, Accounting and  Governance. Reflecting the success of the School, Economics was ranked first in the 2020 NSS whilst Business and Finance was ranked fourth. As well as having its own set of degree programmes the team also provides servicing of subjects such as business maths, economics, finance and law across the full spectrum of programmes within the Lincoln International Business School.

You will be joining a friendly though dynamic and ambitious team. The activities in the Department include undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, alongside executive education which is delivered both face to face and online. There may be opportunities to supervise PhD students.

We are seeking to appoint a banking and finance specialist who will have a PhD or who is close to completing their PhD. Ideally, we would like someone with recent cutting edge industrial experience and holding the CFA qualification. We are keen to appoint someone who is research active with the ability to deliver high quality teaching and research. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching primarily in the disciplines of finance and banking, a growth area in the Department. The postholder will be expected to teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including, MSc Finance, MSc International Investment Banking, BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance and other programmes at both UG and PG.

You will possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to form collaborative relationships both within the University and externally. You must want to be part of a team-based and cohesive work environment and be prepared to manage modules as well as support other lecturers.
