Salary package: $99, 80 - $113,165 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The School of Politics and International Relations, the top ranked political science department in Australia, is seeking to make a continuing, full-time academic appointment in Comparative Politics. The position is broadly defined and open in terms of specializations within Comparative Politics, but expertise in one or more of the following areas is of particular interest: Political Economy, Ethnicity/Nationalism, and Theory, Gender, and Quantitative methods.

The appointee will have an excellent record or demonstrated potential for excellence in research and publication, and in education. As well as teaching, the appointee will be expected to undertake research relevant to their field of expertise, supervision of PhD students and to work collegiality with other members of the school. This position is based in Canberra.

The successful applicant should have a background in political science and will be expected to teach 2-3 courses per year. An ability to contribute to teaching quantitative research methods and/or courses in the Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) subfield is desirable. Availability to start in January 2022 is highly desirable.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice.
