The School of Chemistry is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate for a 36-month position.

Supported by a recent EPSRC grant from Dr Guanjie He's group, the postholder will work on the design of cathode and electrolyte materials of rechargeable Zn-ion batteries.

The postholder will closely work with other group members and project collaborators to contribute to the synthesis, structural design, and development of cathode materials for rechargeable Zn-ion batteries and characterisation of their electrochemical performance. Structure-property correlations for cathode materials will be established. The postholder will also develop suitable hydrogel electrolytes and fabricate devices for high-low temperature battery application.

The postholder will have a PhD (or be near completion) in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, materials or a related discipline and experience of the materials synthesis, characterisation, assembly and electrochemical evaluation of Zn-ion batteries or related energy storage devices. The experience of in-situ characterisation of batteries and hydrogel synthesis, and a strong track record in publishing high impact journal papers will be desirable.

University of Lincoln particularly welcome applications from a range of groups that are currently underrepresented in STEM such as members of the LGBTQ+ and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.

Please upload a CV and a Research Statement as part of your application. Please do not attach any manuscripts, papers, transcripts, mark sheets or certificates as these will not be considered as part of your application.
