About the opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Research Education Support Officer who will be responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Faculty of Engineering's Manager, Research Education, supervisors and higher research degree (HDR) candidates. In this dynamic and varied role, you will coordinate the overall provision of operational and administrative HDR services for the work area, analyse feedback and data, make policy determinations and provide sound advice on policy and procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent administrative and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident in liaising with staff across various Schools, Faculties and central service units, building strong relationships across a range of work areas. You will be proactive and professional with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

  • tertiary qualifications with relevant work experience in tertiary education or a comparable complex environment
  • experience of using records systems supporting delivery of education programmes
  • a sound understanding of the student lifecycle, academic institutions, and the higher education sector as a whole
  • excellent communication skills with a high level of tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive matters
  • the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • excellent organisation and time management skills with high attention to detail.
