Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Oncology (Ref.: 504065), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with a possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Cancer Biology, or a related discipline, with a good research publication record.  They should have experience in cancer research, including carrying drug testing/screening on preclinical models (cell lines, xenografts, and organoids), cell culture, flow cytometry, PCR, immunofluorescence, cell imaging, and working with animal models would be desirable.  Experience in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, single-cell omics, and gene editing is favourable.  Applicants should also be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team, and have experience in supervising and mentoring research students and early-career researchers.

The appointee will conduct research projects in the field of nasopharyngeal cancer and lung cancer.  He/She will also assist in carrying out translational research projects to support early phase clinical trials.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
