About the Role

Reporting directly to the Professor in STEM/ Chief Investigator for the project the Research Associate will carry out research and development activities related to data analysis and data linking in an advanced manufacturing context. Activities will contribute to an Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre (IMCRC) research project conducted jointly by UniSA and BAE Systems Maritime Australia titled ‘The Application of Interactive Narrative Visualisation and Big Data to improve High Value Manufacturing’.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop a software platform for linking, integration, and analysis of distributed heterogeneous data sources in advanced manufacturing supply chains
  • Assess technologies for data linking, data integration, and execution of data analysis tasks
  • Design and implement a software platform for linked data analytics conforming to the planned software architecture
  • Disseminate research findings

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline or a Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline with relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of distributed databases, linked data, and data science technologies
  • Programming skills in Java/Python and data science technology stacks
  • Track record of contribution to quality journal and conference publications in the field of data integration and/or data analysis
