Position overview

ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the Research School of Psychology, the ANU Medical School, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

The Research Officer will make an active contribution to the Indigenous Health and Wellbeing area of the Research School of Population Health (RSPH) by working collegially with all members of the area, across the University and external stakeholders. The Research Officer will contribute to all aspects of the Yarning with our mob about HPV study. This will include consultation with key stakeholders, qualitative data collection across Queensland using Indigenous research methods, data analysis, sharing findings with academic and community audiences, and developing policy and practice solutions. This position requires the incumbent to travel.

The Research Officer will work collegially with other staff in the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health across the University and with external stakeholders. The Research Officer will be supported to develop and maintain highly effective relationships with a range of government, non-government and community health organisations, and contribute to collaborative research and teaching within RSPH.

This position would suit those who have a strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and cultures. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
