Applications are invited for a 18 months postdoctoral research position starting at 01 September 2021, in the area of Thin Film Solar Cells. The successful candidate will work closely with research partners at the Middle East Technical University, Turkey to develop back contact assessing techniques and deploy new back contact electrodes for solution-processed thin film solar cells. This position is funded by a grant from Newton Fund Institutional Links Grant of “Ultralight Absorber for Remote Energy Source (U-AREs)” and the project focuses on developing and demonstrating the potential of using an ultralight photovoltaic (PV) absorber for access to indoor/outdoor remote distributed energy. You will work primarily with Dr Yongtao Qu (PI of the grant).
You will initiate, develop and conduct high-quality research in support of the project. The project will require the ideal candidate to have a good multidisciplinary experimental skills in nanomaterial wet fabrication, characterisation and semiconductor engineering for thin film PV applications. Experience in computational tools to simulate thin film solar cell devices would also be beneficial.
