About the opportunity

The Health and Clinical Analytics lab within the Sydney School of Public Health are currently seeking a Clinical Trials Research Manager to facilitate the strategic and operational set up of the various clinical research projects.

As the Clinical Trials Research Manager, you will direct one or more research projects within Health and Clinical Analytics Lab to ensure that they meet their core research objectives.

Drawing on your expertise in research, you will oversee the clinical trial activity of the team, promoting excellence and sharing good clinical practice (GCP), research management and governance. In addition to this, you will conduct internal audits of the teams processes and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistent approaches across projects.

This role will suit a Clinical Trials Manager with an interest in Health and Clinical Analytics with experience in compliance obligations.

This is a full time role however, part time will be considered for the right candidate.

About you

  • a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, allied health, nursing or other relevant discipline with subsequent work experience
  • an extensive background in clinical trial management including monitoring and data management
  • working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice
  • a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior Clinical Trials position
  • knowledge of clinical trial requirements during their lifecycle from start up to close out including a detailed understanding of the regulatory and ethical approval process across Australia
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion
  • technological proficiency including Microsoft Office suite
  • experience identifying and implementing process improvements
  • financial management experience and literacy, experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure
  • desirable: previous experience in a clinical environment and familiarity with medical records, medical terminology and confidentiality/privacy requirement
