DMU is one of the foremost providers of Advanced Clinical Practice education in the East Midlands.


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or an established academic with clinical experience of Advanced Clinical Practice to join our academic team in the The Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery, in a part time ( 0.8 hours) or secondment capacity, supporting delivery of the highly successful MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programme, including our new apprenticeship programme starting in September 2020 and a range of other programmes across the School.

You will join a team of enthusiastic, committed and friendly staff and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the School, Faculty and the wider University. To reflect national multi-professional developments in advanced clinical practice, we are encouraging applications from individuals with varied professional registration, for example Nurses, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists and Paramedics.

Ideal Candidate

You will be committed to promoting academic enquiry that develops critical thinking in students; supporting safe, effective and evidence-based decision making, whilst developing expertise that supports existing and more established roles in health and social care settings.

There will be a requirement to design and develop innovative and engaging learning materials and assessments and participate fully in curriculum development, including personal knowledge and expertise in high standards for advanced clinical practice. You will be expected to work collaboratively with clinical colleagues and other stakeholders.

Alongside this, you'll be expected to actively engage in scholarship, research and professional / external income generation activities in ways that contribute to the University / School's objectives and contribute to ensuring up-to-date, leading edge teaching.
