The University of Lincoln has embarked on an exciting project in partnership with the University of Nottingham, to offer Nottingham’s undergraduate medical degrees in Lincolnshire.   The Early Years and BMedSci element of the degrees is offered at the University of Lincoln’s Brayford Pool campus.   The University of Lincoln has invested in a multi-million pound facility with a brand new Anatomy suite which will be ready in time for the admission of our third cohort of students in September 2021.

With the coming year’s new intake, the medical student population at Lincoln Medical School will increase to approximately 280.  Following the award of their BMedSci degree, students will then undergo clinical training in hospitals, GP practices and other community settings around Lincolnshire before graduating with a University of Nottingham BMBS degree and gaining provisional registration with the General Medical Council.

We are seeking to recruit a talented academic staff member in Anatomy at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. We are keen to appoint someone with experience of teaching Embryology and Histology. The post is being offered on a Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) profile.

The University of Lincoln has an excellent reputation for providing an outstanding student experience, ranking 24th in the UK for overall satisfaction in the 2020 National Student Survey. Voted Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021, our campus sits beside the picturesque Brayford Pool marina, with views of the ancient castle and cathedral just beyond.

Working in the brand new Lincoln Medical School building, you will join a progressive, goal-oriented team of academic and professional services colleagues to deliver excellence in medical education and an outstanding student experience within the University of Nottingham’s Early Years and BMedSci medical curriculum model.

If you are looking for the challenge of being part of one of the UK’s relatively new medical schools, with the potential to shape the hearts, minds and skills of the doctors of the future, this may be the opportunity for you.

Interviews are expected to be conducted virtually over MS Teams during w/c 24th May 2021.

For further information on the posts, please contact Dr Skantha Kandiah, Head of Anatomy, email SKandiah@lincoln.ac.uk

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
