Job description

We are recruiting for temporary Clinical Teaching Fellows who will provide teaching in the Department of Restorative Dentistry within the Centre for Dentistry in the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences. Posts are available for up to one year in the first instance, while shorter-term positions are also available. The Clinical Teaching Fellows will undertake clinical supervision of 3rd, 4th and Final year dental students, provide teaching in the Clinical Techniques Laboratory and be involved in a range of clinical and academic assessments.

The successful candidates must have:

  • Registerable dental qualification;
  • Registration with the UK’s General Dental Council;
  • Previous experience of teaching or training in Dentistry or demonstrable ability to make a significant contribution to the teaching of Restorative Dentistry; and
  • 3 years’ recent, relevant experience in a range of modern clinical techniques in the field of Restorative Dentistry.

There are a number of sessions available and the working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidates. It is envisaged that additional Clinical Teaching Fellow sessions (temporary or permanent, part time or full time) may arise in 2021/early 2022, as such the reserves from this recruitment exercise may be used to fill these.

The School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. The School has the perfect balance of world-class teaching resources and internationally recognised research infrastructure and comprises of three education and three research centres.
