Would you like to work in a forward-thinking institution where values of student experience, customer service, academic quality, value for money and continuous improvement are at the forefront of how we make our decisions? Do you place the student at the heart of all that you do? If your answer is ‘yes’ to these questions, we have a great opportunity for you to experience it all for yourself and to join our Academic Team in a brand new role of Senior Lecturer (Academic Development – Assessment).

In this role, you will be responsible for the functional and operational academic development across a range of academic programmes. You will collaborate with stakeholders on the design, development, and implementation of module assessments in line with research-based best pedagogical and assessment practice, the University of Sunderland (UoS) Digital First Curriculum, and the University of Sunderland in London Academic Development Strategic Plan. This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake effective change and develop teaching excellence at the University of Sunderland in London (UoSiL).

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a PhD in education field with special focus on assessment, coupled with significant experience of teaching assessment in higher education, as well as experience leading successful projects and using university metrics to drive change within the Higher Education environment. In addition, you will have solid influencing skills and a commitment and appreciation of the importance of delivering an excellent student experience to all learners.

In return, you will have a unique opportunity to add real value and shape our teaching provision, while working with a dedicated and friendly team of academic and support colleagues. We also offer you our commitment to training and development, a generous annual leave provision and our location in Canary Wharf with many transport links for easy access.
