Job Description

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time Research Assistant for the Laboratory of A/Prof. Yann Felix Boucher.

Job description:

  • Daily lab management tasks such as inventory of supplies and samples, preparing culture media and solutions, autoclaving materials, ordering supplies and maintaining bacterial cultures and stocks
  • Perform molecular biology and microbiology experiments as directed
  • To perform other related duties, incidental to the work described herein.
  • Laboratory work will take place at SCELSE (NTU) and computer-based work at SSHSPH (NUS), and travel between NTU and NUS will be frequent

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A masters degree in microbiology, parasitology, or veterinary microbiology/parasitology
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Strong research skills and experience working with animals or environmental samples
  • Able to manage the basic running of a laboratory
  • Highly organized and able to work effectively under pressure, use independent judgement, and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints.
  • Able to work independently and with international teams.
