The full-time post is available on a fixed term basis from 01/09/2021 to 31/08/2024. The post is funded through the ESRC grant “The Forecasting Efficiency of Prediction Markets”. The PI is Dr Spyros Galanis, at the Department of Economics at City, University of London, where the post is based. The CI is Professor Christos Ioannou, University Paris 1, Pantheon-Sorbonne. 

Responsibilities 
This is an outstanding opportunity to join an internationally recognised research team and work closely with partner firms, in order to design and run lab and field experiments on prediction markets. You will assist in designing and conducting the lab and field experiments on prediction markets. You will oganise, clean and prepare the experimental data for analysis and publication. You will assist in writing up the research findings and report the results in conferences. There are no teaching obligations. 

Person Specification 
Applicants will possess a PhD in Economics/Finance or be close to obtaining one. The successful candidate will be skilled in advanced statistical analysis, programming (e.g. zTree) and in designing and conducting lab and field experiments. They will have good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to communicate research findings effectively to both specialist and lay audiences, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
