We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Contemporary Practice lecturer to join the School of Foundation at Arts University Bournemouth. The postholder will work with the specialist tutors to provide academic support to the Art, Design and Media curricula within the School, primarily within Foundation Diploma, and our International Foundation Diploma.

The postholder will hold a degree level qualification in a relevant subject area, and have relevant teaching experience at post-compulsory level. The postholder should also hold a teaching qualification.

Broad practical knowledge and experience in Contemporary Practice is essential to the post as is an excellent awareness of and engagement in contemporary practice and context in art, design and media. The successful candidate will be able to plan and deliver appropriate lecture programmes, studio based teaching, assessment and tutorial support. 

We seek to appoint someone who can enhance the ethos of excellence and outstanding achievement, both in the School of Foundation, Art and Design and Arts University Bournemouth.

Applicants will have a teaching qualification and ideally be working towards a Master’s degree.   

This position involves working with under 18s and therefore requires compliance with the University’s Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment.  The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people.  The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.
