Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology Limited

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Laboratory for Synthetic Chemistry and Chemical Biology (the Laboratory) to be located at Hong Kong Science Park (Ref.: RAP-2020-001), to commence as soon as possible, a 1-year contract with the possibility of renewal. Established as a research unit in Hong Kong Science Park and led by Prof. Chi-Ming Che, the Laboratory integrates chemical science and biomedical science for the development of new molecular medicines and diagnostics tools for the treatment and analysis of human diseases with a focus on cancer.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Chemistry or Biomedical Science or a related discipline, with excellent publication record in the one or more of research areas including catalysis, organic synthesis, bioinorganic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cancer pharmacology, Chinese medicine, natural products, metal-based therapeutics and diagnostics, bioimaging, mass spectrometry, proteomics and/or metabolomics. Track record in securing external research grants, managing funded projects, and supervising research postgraduate students and post-doctoral fellows would definitely be an advantage. The appointee will lead research projects on synthetic chemistry, drug discovery and molecular diagnostics in a multidisciplinary team of chemists, biomedical and clinical scientists. They are expected to bring in new research initiatives in synthetic chemistry and chemical biology for cancer research.
