Senior Lecturer – English and Foundation Studies

City University College in partnership with Ulster University, Qatar (CUC) is a new, modern and dynamic educational institution with big ambitions to become one of the leading providers of higher education and skills development in Qatar. Located in the heart of the capital, Doha, CUC currently offers a range of full- and part-time vocational and undergraduate programmes with plans to expand the portfolio of courses (including postgraduate qualifications) from September 2021.

Ulster University is one of the leading universities in the UK and has a national and international reputation for excellence, innovation and research. Its Business School is the 6th largest in the UK with over 5000 students.

English and Foundation Studies are a major part of the University’s academic portfolio and this presents an exciting opportunity for someone to help shape a curriculum that meets the demands of the future workforce, including Qatar’s National Vision 2030. The position will include the coordination of, and teaching on, our International Foundation Studies Programme, as well as leading and coordinating English language and development courses. 

You will be educated to at least master’s degree level (doctoral degree or PhD desirable) and have a record of research and teaching within a specialism of English or related fields. You will be a native English speaker, or hold an IELTS Academic Certificate with a band score of 7.5 or above.  Experience in the design, development and implementation of curriculum would be useful, and a history of publications and research projects in your chosen field would be a distinct advantage as City University College wishes to continue to grow in terms of volume and quality of research.

The successful candidate will be required to take up the position by June 2021.
