Job Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the National University of Singapore is offering a position for a postdoctoral fellow who will work in the intersection of information theory, quantum information and cryptography.
The postdoctoral fellow has to work closely with Assoc. Prof. Marco Tomamichel in the intersection of information theory, quantum information and cryptography. Some sample topics include:
- protocols and security for distributed computing over the quantum internet;
- statistical and information-theoretic approaches to quantum machine learning;
- finite size effects in classical and quantum information;
- other related topics in quantum Shannon theory and quantum cryptography
Qualifications
- Possess a recognised PhD degree in PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, physics or applied mathematics
- Strong publication record in information theory and quantum information.
- Assist to co-supervise student projects and assist with teaching.
- Meticulous, able to work well under pressure and commitment to meeting tight deadlines.
- Positive attitude – Able to work independently and as a team.
- Open to fixed-term contract
