Role Description

Director of the MBA & Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor (in either Economics or Finance)

As the UK’s only exclusively postgraduate university, Cranfield’s world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships is creating leaders in technology and management globally.  Our distinctive expertise is in our deep understanding of technology and management and how these work together to benefit the world.

Cranfield School of Management (SOM) is recognised as one of the most established and prestigious UK business schools, with more than 50 years’ experience of educating business leaders. SOM is triple accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. It is known for its excellence in leadership development, its deep-rooted relationships with organisations of all kinds, and its focus on transforming learning and research into improved management practice.

The Cranfield Full-Time MBA is one of the longest standing and highest profile in Europe.  We are looking to appoint a permanent and specialist Director for the FT MBA who will also sit in the world-class Economics, Finance & Accounting Centre in Cranfield School of Management.

The person appointed will be a dynamic, ambitious and inspiring academic to contribute to the continued development of the FT MBA programme and lead it into the future.

The new appointment will also be expected to teach on the MBA as well as on other graduate and executive development programmes in Economics or Finance subject areas, depending on the candidate’s preferred specialism.

We welcome applications from people with either a traditional academic career background or someone with an industrial background who has made or may be interested in making a transition to teaching and scholarship. Previous experience of undertaking an MBA would be advantageous.

A Recognised Teaching qualification will also normally be held, but if not, you will be required to enrol on a Cranfield-run course to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching, Learning and Development.

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring have shown that women and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.

For an informal discussion, please contact Professor Joe Nellis, Professor of Global Economy and Deputy Dean for the School of Management, at (E); J.G.Nellis@cranfield.ac.uk
