CUSTODIAN, Facilities-Custodial Services (multiple temporary, part-time openings, 20 hrs/wk.), to clean all assigned areas of the Institute, which may include classrooms, laboratories, research facilities, conference rooms, lounges, bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, entryways, elevators, private offices, auditoriums, gymnasiums, and secure areas such as entrance and office doors. Duties will include emptying trash and recycling receptacles located inside buildings and placing trash and recycling in bins and dumpster; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms including the fixtures; restocking paper products and soap and removing used products; cleaning and polishing furniture; cleaning chalk boards, chalk trays, and erasers; cleaning event spaces before and after; dry and wet mopping and vacuuming floors; dusting and spot cleaning walls and doors in high and low areas; cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains; cleaning interior windows and interior/exterior doorway windows; cleaning mirrors and other glass surfaces; and cleaning up water and debris due to leaks and flood with wet pickup vacuums.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: ability to lift weights of up to 50 lbs., push and pull tilt trucks that hold up to 100 lbs., walk/stand for a majority of the shift, climb stairs, and perform custodial tasks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required by the specific assignment.

The schedule for the position is Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.  This is a six-month assignment, which may be extended depending upon operational/business needs.

Custodians assigned to a day or irregular shift, which includes weekends and holidays, must have a valid driver's license.
