Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 502803), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should have: (i) a Ph.D. degree with at least 3 years’ relevant post-doctoral experience in the field of endocrinology; (ii) evidence of high-quality research as indicated by publication record; and (iii) experience in both animal studies and in-vitro experiments.  Experience in conducting comprehensive metabolic analyses would be essential.  The appointee is expected to participate in the research area of obesity, type 2 diabetes and other related metabolic diseases, with focuses on adipose tissue metabolism, islet biology and the neuro-immune-metabolic axis. 

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
