Job Description
A postdoctoral research position is available now in the Mechanical Engineering Department. The main objective is to develop the advanced metallic foams for sound-absorbing applications. The scope of research includes process development, simulation and materials characterisation. Previous hands-on experience and publications on metallic foams, finite element simulation, powder processing and/or additive manufacturing are highly recommended. The research fellow will drive the research direction, conduct experiments, analyse results and publish scientific papers. Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a PhD degree (or expect the degree within 6 months) in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering, with demonstrated capabilities listed below:
- Powder metallurgy and characterisation;
- Finite element simulation (e.g. COMSOL, Abacus, etc.);
- Powder processing or additive manufacturing process;
- Creative, self-motivated, and good communication skills;
- Strong publication record.
