Job Description

The successful candidate will work with A/P J.A. van Kan on the construction of a table top ion microscope.

Title of the project Development of a compact lab prototype ion microscope. Development task in this project includes at least one of the following:

  1. Development of a remote computer interface to the system
  2. Design of analog interfacing to the system
  3. Ion optics design of the system

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science/physics/electrical and computer engineering or equivalent. Desired Skillset includes one or more of the following areas:
  • Computer programming for remote interfacing with robots, experiments or devices,
  • Analog electronics,  
  • Ion optics simulation software,
  • Hands on working experience with ion microscopes,
  • Good communication skills. Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Computer Interfacing of remotely controlled robots or scientific experiments
  • Failure Analysis of electronic circuit
  • Analog electronics circuits
  • Setting up or commissioning of (charged particle) Microscopes
  • Setting up of vacuum systems
  • CAD software
