Job Details
Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical design for the lithium-ion battery pack of electric vehicles (EV)
- Conduct computer-aided design (CAD) for module and pack structure
- Conduct mechanical design for mounting structure of pack on EV
- Conduct numerical simulation to analyse the structural strength and reliability of pack design
- Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for pack design
- Prepare 2D and 3D mechanical drawings
- Prepare design progress document and final report
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in solid mechanics, mechanical engineering or similar
- Research or working background in solid mechanics or mechanics of material
- Experience in computer-aided design and numerical simulation for lithium ion battery pack
- Familiarity with FMEA
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks, ProE; and CAE simulation software like COMSOL, ANSYS
- Having published patents and/or journal papers in solid mechanics

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.
The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility:
• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university.
Terms and Conditions:
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
