SENIOR APPLICATION ARCHITECTComputer Science and Artificial Research Laboratory (CSAIL)-The Infrastructure Group (TIG), to be responsible for establishing and providing leadership to the technology strategy and roadmaps to best serve a research community of 1000+. Will proactively identify, define, and solve the administrative and research problems identified by TIG and its customers; drive change that moves CSAIL research and core business operations; provide technical leadership and systems solutions to large, strategic, highly-complex system development projects involving multiple platforms, distributed processing, and web-based applications; leverage in-depth understanding of CSAIL process flow and infrastructure to design and deliver an integrated portfolio of research and business applications to support many facets of work at CSAIL. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree; at least three years of systems experience in a UNIX/Linux environment; ability to learn new programming languages and frameworks; experience developing and maintaining database-backed web applications; thorough knowledge of XML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, at least one JavaScript framework like React, jQuery, or Vue,  and DOM; experience with public cloud (AWS, Rackspace, Azure) and private cloud (OpenStack); thorough knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture; ability to manage production workflows via deployment frameworks; relational database experience in PostgreSQL, and/or MySQL; ability to identify and implement automation tasks; strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, leadership, coaching, mentoring, negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; collaborative approach to innovation, problem-solving, and working with technical and nontechnical staff; solid understanding of network architecture; software development skills; and ability to incorporate wide-ranging ideas and opinions to set technology direction, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, multitask, function both independently and as part of a team, and stay organized in a dynamic work environment. Job #19097-7
