Research Associate, Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering

Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Associate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive embedded firmware development on DSP, MCU or FPGA for switched-mode power supply and drive applications
• Define firmware architecture to provide the required safety, performance and reliability in close cooperation with the system concept, verification and validation teams
• Verify the firmware via unit testing and static code analysis
• Support testing and debugging on the system
• Provide detailed documentation of the firmware architecture, code, and testing during the project development cycle
• Define and optimize the firmware development process, firmware development environment and support tools
• Provide technical support to verification and validation team

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer engineering with minimum 3-5 years of relevant working experience
• C/VHDL/Verilog programming skills are required
• Scripting languages such as Perl and Python are desired
• Experience in embedded software development and familiar with embedded development toolchains
• Strong knowledge in embedded processor architecture and various communication protocols such as SPI, CAN, PCIs, UART and Ethernet etc
• Experience with configuration management and software revision control such as Teamcenter, GIT, PTC Integrity etc
• Knowledge of power converters and control algorithms for SMPS and drives is desired
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills in English
