The Joint NTU-UBC Research Centre of Excellence in Active Living for the Elderly (LILY) invites applications for the position of Research Associate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and collaborative research projects
  • Writing or contributing to publications or disseminating research findings using media appropriate to the discipline and make presentations at conferences or exhibit work at other appropriate events
  • Participate regularly in group meetings and prepare and deliver presentations to project team, internal and external stakeholders or funders
  • Assist in project management
  • Continually update knowledge and understanding in field or specialism to inform research activity

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline
  • Experience in machine learning and deep learning method
  • Possess sufficient knowledge and implementation experiences in user behavior modelling, socially intelligent agents, conversational agents, and companion agents to develop research programmes and methodologies
  • Knowledge and implementation experiences in self-motived learning, persuasive technologies and explainable machine learning/recommendation is preferred
  • Evidence of published research with a good publications records
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and teamwork

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
