Energy Research Institute @ NTU invites applications for the position of Research Associate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on electric autonomous vehicle modeling and characterization and perform energy and life assessment
  • Perform in-vehicle data collection and analytics
  • Hands-on experience in  simulation model and data acquisition
  • Data modelling for the real time driving scenarios and validation of the vehicle simulation model using the driving data
  • Perform cost analysis and business case for the new technologies in electric autonomous vehicles and their energy storage system

Job Requirements:

  • MSc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with background in automotive engineering or energy storage management or power train development for electric vehicles
  • Working knowledge on Robotic Operating Systems (ROS) is desired
  • Strong technical skills in thermal modeling, battery characterization and life cycle assessment
  • Deep knowledge and working experience in the use of MATLAB and other simulation tools such as Simulink, AmeSIM, and ANSYS, FLUENT or other related software
  • Experience in data collection using DAQ tools, data analytics and data modelling
  • Experience in handling electric vehicle diagnostics and sensor installation
  • Knowledge on vehicle CAN, OBD and ROS is desired
  • Experience in programming languages (C, C++) and scripting languages (R, Python) is an advantage

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
