Description
Department of Asian Studies sees to fill the position of an Associate Professor in anthropology specialised in Central, East or Southeast Asia. The successful candidate must meet the requirements of the Czech/German/Polish/Austrian Habilitation degree, in order to become the guarantor of anthropological subjects taught in the department and in the PhD program in Asian Studies. The successful candidate who is not in possession of the Habilitation degree (or its recognised equivalent) has to submit to the Habilitation procedure upon assuming the position. In addition, a successful candidate should meet the following requirements
Entrance Requirements
a. excellent teaching and supervision record;
b. ability to teach general and introductory subjects in Asian anthropology as well as specialised courses;
c. experience with graduate schools and supervision;
d. excellent and regular publication activity in the field;
e. successful track of grant applications;
f. administrative experience in program management;
g. ability to communicate in Czech or English at the level of the position and willingness to learn Czech for basic communication;
h. Full CV, Teaching Evaluations, Teaching and Research Statement (each no longer than 2 pages) addressing the systematic integration of anthropology into the Asian studies program (details about the Department programs can be requested from the HoD).
i. the applicant should arrange for two references to be sent directly to the Head of HR of the Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc. The remaining documents should be sent with the application by the applicant.
