Applicants are invited to apply for a two-year fixed term Research Associate (RA) position to join the Department of Engineering at King’s College London working with Dr. Yansha Deng and Dr. Ali Salehi-Reyhani.

The post is funded by the EPSRC, with the aims to design, model, and build novel chemical reactions-based microfluidic MC prototypes with time varying chemical signal processing functionalities. In partnership with Elvesys and Mediwise Ltd, the successful implementation of these designs will bring the world-first microfluidic prototypes for 1) MC between transceivers; and 2) high-efficiency intelligent drug delivery, which may fundamentally revolutionize the conventional drug delivery based on invasive injection. The projects are multi-disciplinary requiring knowledge of  microfluidics, synthetic biology, and graphene-based Teraherz communications.

You will be a conscientious, innovative experimental scientist who has successfully completed a PhD (or equivalent) in  synthetic biology, microfluidics,  or engineering including electrical/electronic engineering or similar. Experience in microfluidic devices design, prototype, and testing for applications in drug delivery is preferred.

The role may involve irregular hours, with intense periods of activity leading up to deadlines such as publications or deliverable milestones.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 24 months
